About Us

Anthony was born in 1962 in Brunei, on the island of Borneo — the world’s third-largest island — and grew up in a small village surrounded by tropical forest. He picked up his father’s nursing skills as a young child, and was drawn early to the way the knowledgeable elders in the village treated illness with natural herbs. He has accumulated that knowledge ever since.

He completed animal veterinary science at the National Science University of Ping Tung, Taiwan, in 1988, and began his pursuit of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1989. He started with foot reflexology, then studied and practised acupuncture, massage, herbal medicine and cupping under Prof. Andrew Tiong in Kuching, Sarawak. He was active in the Sarawak Traditional Chinese Medicine Association, contributing charitable work and prescribing natural herbs at the association’s events. He travelled and learned in Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and British Columbia before settling in Edmonton in 2006.

Anthony has completed 2,200 hours of massage therapy training with Archways Healing College in Edmonton, and has been a member of the NHPC since 2008. He has met the requirements of Alberta Health and Wellness and is a Registered Acupuncturist. He remains active in charitable events organised by the Alberta Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners’ Association.
